When it comes to our health and well being we often think about good food, exercise, sleep and stress management. All the things to include to support our bodies to thrive.
But sometimes we need to think about the things to avoid that have negative impact on our lives. And that can be the cleaning products we use around the house.
Join us to hear more.
We have found a number of simple, natural and effective cleaners that don't have any scents or harsh chemicals. The "scrubber" product we use is called Mother's Choice and is available online here in Canada. The other "scrubber" is Bon Ami and we get that on Amazon. Baking soda can be used as a scrubber, too.
We also use vinegar and water for glass and a little dish detergent or castile soap (like Dr. Bronner's) in water for wiping things clean.
If you like a little fragrance to make things smell freshly cleaned, just add a drop of an essential oil to the water you're using or on a tissue that you suck up in the vacuum. It'll make the house smell fresh in no time.
And here's a short clip from Dr. Michael Greger that talks about household cleaners and lung health that is good to know.
The recipe this week is a Greek Spinach & Rice dish. If you like grape leaves (dolmas) we think you'll love this.
To your Amazing Health,

- 2 garlic cloves, minced finely
- 1 pound spinach
- 1 bunch green onions, sliced diagonally

- 1/3 cup brown rice
- 2 lemons, juiced

- 2-3 tablespoons fresh mint, minced
- Ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon no salt seasoning
In a small pan add washed rice and 1 cup of veggie stock. Bring to a boil, turn heat to low, cover and cook for 40 minutes. Set aside.
In a large pan add onion and 2 tablespoons veggie stock. Heat and cook on medium heat until onion begins to soften.
Add spinach, green onions and garlic. Mix well and let spinach wilt, about 10 minutes.
Add rice, lemon juice, fresh dill and fresh mint. Stir.
Add black pepper and no salt seasoning. Mix dish well and serve.
NOTE: This would be a great side dish with hummus and pita bread.
